The Castelletto vineyard extends over loose and sandy soils, which allow the roots of the vine to develop in depth, generating grapes of the highest quality, rich in tannins and with great acidity. Barolo di Castelletto 2016 is a wine of excellence, of rare elegance and finesse, the philosophy of the producer, Gitti Family, is to create a “Neoclassical Barolo”, blending tradition with innovative techniques and research to create fine and territorial wines, suitable therefore to wine lovers looking for a jewel to keep in their cellar.
In the glass, Barolo di Castelletto has a beautiful light ruby colour, with garnet-coloured hints. It releases aromas that are extremely elegant and clear: violet, geranium, then ripe plum, chestnut, cocoa and, finally, olives and laurel. In the mouth the wine expresses all its magnificence: a very dense silky tannic texture envelops the palate giving a sensation of creaminess, which is invigorated by a nice freshness and sapidity. Long, balsamic finish with an ematic hint.
