Coming from sapling vines of about 70 years, the grapes of this Etna Rosso possess exceptional characteristics in terms of polyphenolic richness: the roots of the plant are deeply embedded in the lava rock, which produce only a few clusters, but of extraordinary quality. Passorosso is a wine for lovers of elegance and finesse, very similar to a Burgundy Pinot Noir, which is therefore also capable of evolving for several years.
The color of this Etna Rosso DOC is a shining ruby, with violet reflections. The aromas that we find in the glass are of great finesse: bitter orange and its candied peel, iris flowers, then cut grass and in the end basic notes of camphor. In the mouth the wine is very feminine and persuasive, the tannins are caressing, the body is agile and straight, the acidity given by the phenomenal altitude is very strong, as is the almost smoky flavor given by the lava rock.
