The Aglianico del Vulture is a noble grape that is increasingly acquiring greater interest, year after year. For its elegance and aging potential it is known as “The Barolo of the South”. Elena Fucci with her 2016 Titolo represents the best expression of this variety, its production area is indeed extremely suitable for it. The altitude of the vineyards causes huge temperature variations between night and day, giving a wine already rich in tannins and alcohol a further, remarkable acidity, which combined with the lava soil, rich in minerals, generates a wine of great depth that will offer emotions for the next 20 years
“Titolo” 2016 in the glass sports an intense ruby color, with violet reflections. To the nose firstly come the aromas of red fruit such as currants, ripe raspberries and sour cherries, then arrive the herbaceous notes of olive, and finally the scents of Mediterranean herbs such as myrtle and juniper. In the mouth the dense tannic texture pleasantly caresses the palate, it’s a full-bodied, warm wine, supported however by a nice acidity and unique sapidity and minerality, typical of the volcanic territory where its grapes grow. Very long finish, pleasantly balsamic.
