Giuseppe Cortese’s Barbaresco Rabajà is the result of a maniacal selection of grapes from the prestigious cru Rabajà, a natural amphitheater perfectly exposed to the sun, considered one of the greatest expressions of Barbaresco. The vines are very old and therefore produce few clusters of excellent quality, and Rabajà is the highest peak of the Asilli hills, the altitude guarantees great temperature variations between days and nights, which translate into extreme acidity and therefore longevity. Rabajà 2017 is an oenological pearl, a small production of great charm for lovers of elegant and ethereal wines.
The color of this Barbaresco Rabajà is brilliant, tending to garnet, with purple reflections. The aromas that characterize it are of extreme elegance: purple flowers such as crocus and cyclamen, then wild strawberries and raspberries, which subsequently give the way to herbaceous and ethereal notes. On the palate Rabajà is warm and enveloping, with dense and caressing tannins, though both a powerful acidity and a hematic note create a pleasant contrast. Long and balsamic finish.
