Only 5 producers bottle the “Cerequio” cru. The vineyard is spread over two opposing slopes which, together, create an easily recognizable ridge. The area is characterized by an extraordinary microclimate: in winter the snow melts immediately and for this reason the elderly calls this place “Riviera delle Langhe” (literally the Langhe’s Coastline). This Cru is bottled only in very few samples, and in exceptional vintages, such as the 2015, that permit the wine to improve in the cellar for over 30 years. This is the reason for which Il Cerequio 2015 is a label that cannot be missed in the cellar of lovers of refined and highly sought-after wines. Combined with the Brunella and Villero crus of the same winery enables the wine lovers to have a full overview of the Castiglione Falletto terroir.
The color of the “Cerequio” 2015 is a bright and intense, translucent ruby red. This Barolo has an intense aroma of red fruits such as the raspberry, the cassis, the arbutus and then the red rose in full bloom. In the mouth “Cerequio”2025 is still young and kicking: the tannin is crisp, enveloping, bodied, driven by a marked acidity. The finish is very long and persistent, with hints of spices and sweet roots such as ginseng and vanilla.
