Serralunga’s Barolo 2016 is a wine of great finesse and elegance: this vintage is perfectly balanced, due to the great temperature variations that allowed it to develop a remarkable acidity, which combined with the richness of a terroir made by marl and sand, generated a complex and sophisticated wine with a long aging potential.
Serralunga’s Barolo 2016 has a rather faded garnet color, with brilliant ruby hints. The aromatic framework is very fine and is based on floral notes of purple flowers such as the lilac, the violet and the iris, for then opening up to raspberries, cassis, and finally spicy notes of cinnamon. On the palate it is very elegant and feminine, with a very dense tannic texture that comes in silkily, pressed by a sapid and acidic boost.
