Villero is a Barolo DOCG coming from a single vineyard in the municipality of Castiglione Falletto, that is, a plot of land of less than 1 hectare, which therefore gives life to a very limited number of bottles, coming from the “monopole” of the Boroli family. The undisputed protagonist of Castiglione Falletto, for quality and exposure Villero is the most important among the vineyards of the municipality, located at a significant altitude for the area. The version of Boroli comes from forty-year old vine plots and is vinified and left to rest in wood of different sizes before the bottling. A “must” for collectors and serious wine lovers alike, to be combined with the other crus of the same winery: Brunella and Cerequio.
Bright ruby red color, with orange reflections, clear. The nose firstly perceives the initial scents of this cru of Barolo: purple flowers such as iris, wisteria, violets. Then come the aromas of wild strawberries and carnelian. In the mouth it is an explosive wine, great body, whipping but well integrated tannins and a refreshing acidity. Retro-olfactory sensations of toasted malt and violet candies.
