This wine is dedicated to the longest eruption of the Etna volcano, which took place in 1614 and lasted 10 years. The brilliant intuition of planting Riesling on black volcanic soil, blending it with the native Carricante has led to the creation of an exceptional and out of the ordinary wine. The high altitude, and the volcanic soil, very rich in minerals, has led the wine to have a remarkable level of acidity and minerality and a unique character. It’s a wine for aging, inspired by the Alsatian cousins, also for the shape of the bottle, which will acquire unique aromas over the years such as the unmistakable note of hydrocarbon.
This volcanic white wine has a crystal clear straw yellow color, almost transparent, with greenish reflections. Its aromatic profile is explosive: jasmine and patience flowers, yellow plums and gooseberries, and then herbaceous hints of freshly cut grass and sage. In the mouth it is a crisp wine, with an invigorating freshness, an out-of-the-ordinary sapidity and minerality, which makes the wine extremely drinkable and pleasant.
